We celebrate America’s 250th Birthday on July 4, 2026
This year is the semiquincentennial celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence that birthed the United States of America.

That is quite a mouthful! Happy 250th Birthday, America!

Before we sing, blow out the candles, and clap 250 times the question, ‘Are ‘ya one? Are ‘ya two?’…

Let’s talk about birthdays.
Birthdays are all about reflecting and refocusing. (After we eat birthday cake and ice cream, of course.)

Birthdays, national or personal, are moments to stop and see where we’ve come from

and where we’re headed.
Personal birthdays find family reflecting on the physical, cognitive, and social, growth of the guest of honor.

If love surrounds the birthday person, emphasis is on the good and encouragements are focused on the positives. Skills and talents expressed over the past year are reasons to rejoice.
Weaknesses, errors, and deficits exist, but surrounded in love, these can be used as springboards

for learning, growth, and encouragement to refocus and do better in the coming year.
When love surrounds the birthday celebration we rejoice in the good and realign the rest for a better future.

Birthdays are also a time to reconnect.

Reconnect with the people in our present lives. Remember family that are no longer with us. The birthday person is a living link reminding those gathered of the past and casting thoughts toward the future. Family bonds are strengthened as family are united by the past, present and future.
Birthdays act as a pause as we march through time.
A pause to notice those around us and recognize that we share a common journey.

It is a time to open our hearts and extend love and compassion to all we meet.
America’s 250th birthday is a time for us to pause as a nation.Reflect, with thanksgiving and appreciation, to all those who sacrificed for the blessings we enjoy today. But it is also time to recognize that it takes hard work to make a better future.

We do not walk the path of life alone.

With renewed focus and commitment, let us march forward together, dedicated to the betterment of all.

Happy Birthday, U.S.A.
May birthday blessings be upon you, those you love, and our country.
May goodness and peace be yours.
