Holiday cheer!
That’s what I wanted to write about when I turned the calendar to December. Something full of holiday cheer!
Maybe something with lots of drummers drumming, lords a’ leaping, and ladies dancing?

Or maybe jillions of brilliant, flashing lights, blinking through a darkened city street?

Maybe dazzling snowscapes viewed through the indoor warmth of fireside glow and marshmallows floating on hot cocoa?

That’s what I wanted to write when December started out.
Halfway through the month, topic ideas took a sharp left turn, as holiday activities surged onto the calendar, avalanching into my life.
Perhaps an amusing look at shopping, planning, cleaning, baking, or sending holiday cards, might be a welcomed break from the labors of the holiday agenda?
Visions of the circus act, keeping plates spinning on top of long poles, seemed to capture the momentum and frustrations of the month.

The velocity of December is not a trifling matter, I discovered.
The month will soon be whizzing out the door, with me in hot pursuit to get my December blog posted.
Delaying much longer will find me tripping out of December and blinking in surprise as a bright new year begins.

So I come to a screeching halt, to express my thanks to everyone, before December and 2024 vanishes.
May your life be filled with joy and peace. May the Star that shone over the shepherds’ field so long ago, bring you the light of hope and love in the days ahead.

Merry Christmas!
